RodePulse Enters Beta Testing
After months of building, we’re flipping the switch. RodePulse is now in beta testing.
What RodePulse Does
RodePulse is a proximity alerting app for drivers and motorcyclists. Motorcyclists broadcast their location in the background — no need to keep the app open. Drivers receive audio alerts when a motorcycle is nearby and approaching, with escalating warnings as the distance closes.
No account. No personal data. Just anonymous session IDs and GPS coordinates that exist only as long as you’re actively riding or driving.
What We Built
- Background location for both roles. Motorcyclists broadcast even when the app is closed. Drivers receive data without keeping the app in the foreground.
- Battery-aware background engine. The app adjusts its activity intelligently to preserve battery life without sacrificing awareness.
- Two alert tiers. A caution alert fires when a motorcycle is nearby and converging; a danger alert escalates when it is very close. Live Activity and Dynamic Island widgets provide real-time proximity state on the Lock Screen — no notification, no unlock required.
- Live map. A real-time map shows your position and nearby vehicles.
- One-tap role switching. Register once as both a motorcyclist and a driver. Switch between roles instantly from the home screen.
- Zero-friction onboarding. Tap “Get Started” — no Apple ID, no account, no login flow. Fully anonymous.
The beta starts with a small group testing both roles on real roads — the only environment that matters.
What Comes Next
Beta runs with a small group of testers on both roles simultaneously. Once we’ve validated the core alert loop, we’ll submit to the App Store for public availability.
After the iOS launch, we’ll look at Android.
